With elegant lines and an uncommon finish, the Black Ellipse mirror is refined and celestial with its unique marbleized surface. Handmade from quality domestic poplar hardwood using traditional woodworking joinery for strength and longevity. It is hand painted and dipped in a marbling bath. The once-liquid pattern becomes a one-of-a-kind snapshot, a moment of fluid motion held still and wrapped around the black background. The patterns can be seen as outer-space like and geologic, a piece of the night sky or from deep underground.
From layout, to construction, to sanding and finish, each Black Ellipse mirror is made with care and attention to detail. Perfect for an entryway, hallway, bathroom, or bedroom, this mirror will remind you that we are made of star stuff!
The marbleized pattern on each mirror is unique and will vary slightly from what is shown. Finished with polyurethane and hand-rubbed to a semi-gloss sheen.

All mirrors are made in our studio, from high-quality, sustainably sourced North American hardwoods, using traditional mortise and tenon joinery. Mirror finishes are durable and hand rubbed to a satin sheen. Mirror glass is 3/16” thick, yielding a reflection without distortion. Ready to hang with a french cleat.
